SOPREMA Canada has formalized its support for flameless roofing solutions. This summer, the roofing materials manufacturer issued a statement declaring it will promote and recommend flameless solutions from now on, on all types of roofing structures. The announcement, says SOPREMA, is part of its mission to raise industry standards and “outperform today’s stringent building requirements.”
“It’s been a while now since we decided to take part in this trend towards flameless solutions in the industry. As an essential and innovative player in the roofing sector, we care deeply about improving building construction and standards in our industry,” said Richard Voyer, Vice-President and CEO of SOPREMA North America.
The benefits of working with flameless materials and technologies have been widely documented. In addition to being a safer alternative for workers and the environment, the advantages include:
- Sensitivity: Flameless solutions do not disrupt a building’s operations in terms of excess noise, heat, harmful or distracting odors, or volatile organic compounds (VOCs). As such, they are required for sensitive projects that require heightened safety, noise, and gas considerations (e.g., hospitals, schools, etc.).
- Timely installation: Self-adhering membranes and other roofing products do not require thermofusion time. In this respect, they are as quick (or quicker) to install as other solutions in the market.
- Flexible design: Many self-adhering membranes and roofing products can be adapted for all building types and all year long.
- High-standards: Flameless solutions, such as those featured in SOPREMA Canada’s product line, are tested to CSA A123.21 standards.
Avoiding the heat
Supporting flameless solutions is nothing new for SOPREMA Canada. In recent years, the company has expanded its line of flameless products, technologies, and installation methods.
