Determining the HVAC system requirements and selecting equipment for major home renovations, additions and deep energy retrofits can be complex, time-consuming and risky for HVAC contractors who are asked to provide a quote.
This forum is designed specifically for HVAC contractors. Take out the guess work and reinforce sound design and selection principles you can carry forward for several years to come. Deep energy retrofits are growing in demand as consumers learn about the advantages of energy efficient homes. The growth of federal and provincial incentives available for homeowners to retrofit their home will only increase this demand.
This forum is broken up into two 1.5 hour sessions:
Day 1 – Tuesday, April 13th, 2:00pm – 3:30pm: Efficient, adaptable mechanical systems for major home renovations
- Presenter: Jeanine Jollineau, Synergy HVAC Design Inc.
- Content: We will introduce the case study home which we will use to explain the design and selection principles of the HVAC system before and after major renovations (new insulation, new windows, additions, etc.). We will explore topics related to ventilation (HRV/ERV selection), equipment selection and sizing, effect of windows, insulation and air sealing on heat gain/heat loss, ductwork considerations, and more.
Day 2 – Thursday, April 15th, 2:00pm – 3:30pm: Manufacturer’s responses and solutions to the case study challenge
- Presenter 1 – Steve Bagshaw, iFLOW HVAC
- Presenter 2 – Wesley Salisbury, TOSOT/Bathica
- Content: Two manufacturer’s of innovative HVAC solutions will present their product/system solutions and equipment selections that best match the requirements presented in the case study from the day 1 session.
