HRAI congratulates Jennifer Green, Director of Competitions and Young Women’s Initiatives, at Skills Ontario, and Provincial Youth Advisor, who last week was recognized as one of “Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100” by the Women’s Executive Network.
In her role as a Director with Skills Ontario, Jennifer works with HRAI and many other partners to organize and execute the annual Skills Competition that has also been a feature at the CMPX Trade Show. Jennifer also oversees the multitude of competitions and information sessions which Skills Ontario organizes throughout the elementary and secondary school systems.
Ms. Green is described as “a trailblazer for women in non-traditional careers.” She has already achieved many honours through her mentorship, community involvement and leadership, as she continues to advocate for the skilled trades. In addition to her role with Skills Ontario, Jennifer was recently appointed by the Hon. Monte McNaughton, Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development as one of three Youth Advisors. In this role, Jennifer is leading discussions with industry partners like HRAI to determine how to attract more youth, women, New Canadians, Indigenous People into the Skilled Trades sector.
