FortisBC has worked collaboratively with government to deliver on the promise of CleanBC and in 2018 they have released the Clean Growth Pathway report that sets out an ambitious vision for decarbonization to 2050 – in line with the provincial government’s decarbonization goals.

FortisBC also have an interim target to reduce customer emissions 30 percent by 2030 (30BY30), one of North America’s most ambitious GHG reduction goals for a natural gas utility.

Using FortisBC’s established electric and natural gas infrastructure to invest in innovative solutions like renewable natural gas and hydrogen will be critical in BC achieving its ambitious 2050 emissions reduction target.

That is why FortisBC has conducted research on Pathways for British Columbia to achieve its GHG Reduction Goals, a study that recognizes the importance of a diversity of energy systems to meet our shared, local GHG reduction goals.

Input and engagement with stakeholders will be key to guiding our work on climate action and emissions reduction, while defining FortisBC’s role as BC’s largest supplier of energy in a low carbon future. FortisBC looks forward to presenting their Pathways study and receiving your input.

Join FortisBC on April 20, 2021 from 12-1pm PST to learn and give your feedback on meeting GHG reduction goals.
