On Saturday January 9, 2021, the Government of Québec enacted new stricter regulations to limit the COVID-19 contamination province-wide.
Because the HVAC industry will likely continue to be actively involved in manufacturing, installation, servicing and consulting, HRAI members should keep in mind the following new regulations:
- Province-wide curfew from 8pm to 5am
- All employees that can telework must work from home
- Reduction to a minimum of manufacturing activities with maximum sanitary precautions
For those members who must keep employees at work as they are essential to maintaining minimum or urgent operations, the strictest of sanitary measures and physical distancing must be observed. For employees that must be present at work and may require to travel to and from work during the curfew hours of 8pm and 5am, employers must provide an employer attestation demonstrating that said employee is essential. A downloadable and modifiable form is available here in English and French.
The full details of the government-mandated confinement are available here.
