HRAI has scheduled its third Advocacy Day at Queen’s Park on February 2, 2021, and meetings with government officials are shaping up. The importance of this day is about building a platform for elected officials to hear key priorities affecting HVACR businesses and industry representatives.

The key priorities for this day are:
Economic Recovery and Job Creation through Efficient Investments in the Built Environment – Home and Building Retrofit Program: Investing in the HVACR sector will create apprenticeship opportunities, drive job creation and investment in small and medium businesses and in well-paid, local trade jobs in communities across the province. It will improve ventilation systems and increase the energy performance of heating and cooling systems in homes, institutions, commercial and industrial buildings.
Skills Training and Governance: The transition from the OCOT to the next iteration of the governance, enforcement and regulation of the Skilled Trades is a key priority for HRAI Canada and our members. Ongoing concerns include issues regarding the skilled trades shortage, industry governance and training and improving the pathways to apprenticeship.
Ventilation and Indoor Air Quality: HRAI and our members are subject matter experts regarding safe, secure indoor air and ventilation particularly for schools, Long Term Care homes, retirement homes and healthcare facilities and commercial building.
