SPOTLIGHT ON BENEFITS

February 28, 2023

Hello MCAS members,

Who needs a vacation?!  We all do…

A recent study by Blue Cross of Canada found 91% of Canadians are looking forward to a vacation in 2023 and as they embrace travel again, travellers are looking for ways to manage risk and enjoy a stress-free trip.  Canadians should be able to focus on the fun and excitement that travel brings, rather than being stressed and worrying about what could go wrong.

Most Canadians have recently experienced travel-related stress including the top stressors:

  • Cost or budget pressure:  42%
  • Flights cancelled or changed:  33%
  • Lost or stolen baggage:  32%
  • Concern of COVID or illness:  32%
  • Safety and security while away:  30%

Travellers are taking steps to achieve greater peace of mind while on a trip including bringing extra cash, having a neighbour or family member check on their home while away and buying comprehensive travel insurance.
