As a professional association, we rely on member volunteers to develop programs and services that are relevant to and serve the needs of OPBA members. Whether you are a seasoned procurement professional or newer to the profession, OPBA welcomes the contributions of all our volunteers. To ensure broad participation, all committees meet virtually.
We are currently seeking volunteers for the following committees:
Pro-D Committee: Committee members help plan professional development events including OPBA Ignite, OPBA Talks, and Coffee with Counsel. The committee meets at lunch on a monthly basis over Zoom. Contact Melissa Mordue at melissa.mordue@burlington.ca.
Awards Committee: This committee will oversee current awards including the John Bott Scholarships, and the Judy Wilson Emerging Leader Award as well as consider new awards. Contact Robin Gallo at rgallo@innisfil.ca.
Caveat Emptor Editorial Board: This committee plays an important role in sourcing articles for the monthly Caveat e-news. The committee holds content planning meetings quarterly. It is a great way to connect with colleagues and stakeholders to source articles that would be of interest to OPBA members. Contact Serena Wilgress at swilgress@thebluemountains.ca.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee: This new committee aims to foster a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion within the OPBA, promote “best” DEI public procurement practices, and encourage full participation of all members. The committee typically meets monthly. Contact Kim Squires at KSquires@ptbocounty.ca.
