BAC Members: Canada issues statement on Mexico’s ban of use of genetically engineered corn in tortillas and dough On August 25, the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of Export Promotion, International Trade and Economic Development, and the Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, issued a statement announcing Canada will participate as a third party in the dispute settlement proceedings initiated by the United States under the Canada-US-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) regarding the use of genetically engineered corn in tortillas and dough. FBC-ABC continues to monitor the situation. Reporting a missing temporary foreign worker Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) would like to share information on how to report a missing temporary foreign worker (TFW). To report a missing TFW to Service Canada, employers should prepare an email that includes the following information: LMIA number(s), Employer name/Business Number, Name(s) of departed TFW(s), Departure date, Physical work location, Details on how TFW(s) left, and any other relevant information. The email should be sent to the appropriate email address depending on where your LMIA was processed.
