CCGA now accepting 2022 applications; prepare for spring…
Winnipeg, MB — Recognizing that the heavy demands of spring farm work are right around the corner, the Canadian Canola Growers Association (CCGA) is giving farmers more time than ever to apply for an Advance Payments Program (APP) cash advance. CCGA released its 2022 APP cash advance application today and invites farmers to complete their application during the early application phase, which runs from today until March 31.

We’re excited to announce the next major evolution of Knudge. For some time, advisors have been able to assign nudges to themselves, to their teammates or to other professionals (like accountants or estate planning attorneys) that they work with to service their clients. Now, you can associate these nudges assigned internally (or externally to another professional) with a client or household and optionally allow that client or household to see the nudge on their shared to-do list.
- Understanding Canola Basis
Canola producers, particularly those with canola in storage, follow canola cash prices,’ says Neil Blue, provincial crops market analyst with Alberta Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Economic Development. ‘However, not all canola producers track the difference between the cash price and the futures price for canola. That difference is termed “basis”. The following basis can give clues of what is happening in the market and provide pricing opportunity.’
- U of G Launches Novel Online Farm Business Program
Free farm business management skills ranging from farm business planning to maintain mental health will be offered through a new self-paced, free virtual course being launched this month by the University of Guelph and partner organizations.
Believed to be the first of its kind in Canada, U of G’s new “Foundations in Agricultural Management” online certificate course will enable farmers, and especially younger producers, to brush up on their farm business management skills. Registration opens on Jan. 17.
