The Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes (CCBFC) invites Code users and stakeholders to participate in the public review of proposed changes to Code Canada publications:
- National Building Code of Canada 2015 (NBC)
- National Fire Code of Canada 2015 (NFC)
- National Plumbing Code of Canada 2015 (NPC)
The consultation runs until Dec. 23. You can find details here.
The consultation includes a number of proposed changes to Part 9 (Housing and Small Buildings) of the National Building Code 2015: new requirements to prevent infiltration of exhaust air into roofs through soffits; and an increase in separation distance between air intakes and sources of contaminants to 1800 mm (from 900 mm).
HRAI encourages its member to review the proposed changes and submit their comments by Dec. 23.
