With April showers it seems comes the month of May filled with training opportunities for members and non-members alike.
On May 16 – 18 we will be offering our HVAC Level 1 course in Saskatoon. This hands-on course has always been popular, and this will be the only time it will be offered in 2022. Students will come away with newfound knowledge in such topics as series and parallel circuits, wiring diagrams, ladder diagrams and measuring voltage plus so much more. In April, MCAS partnered with TSASK and offered the inaugural session of the Gas and Plumbing Technologies Review course. The response from the attendees was overwhelming positive and as a result, two additional sessions are being offered to industry. The Saskatoon session is scheduled for May 17th and has sold out but there is still space available in the Regina session which runs on June 15th. We are partnering with MCAS Affiliate Member Dynamic Agencies to offer a 1 day course presented by Viessmann covering boiler service and troubleshooting. The course takes place in Regina on May 17th and 18th and will be offered in Saskatoon on May 19th and 20th. (Saskatoon is now sold out).

Before summer kicks into high gear, we will be offering a variety of courses in June.
Jerry Boulanger will be teaching a two-day Hydronics course in Saskatoon on June 1st and 2nd. Students will leave with a good understanding of how all the pieces in an hydronics system function and interact, learn to lay out components in the correct order for proper operation and diagnose problems in existing systems. Course instruction will also focus on Hydronic System design with students defining requirements, piping layout, selecting equipment, pipe / pump sizing, operating temperatures and control strategies. The group will design a system from scratch while using an Excel program designed to do routine calculations for hydronic design / analysis. On June 7th we will once again offer the Ozone Protection Training. It is mandatory training for those who require the ODP/ODS Certification for the purchasing and/or handling of refrigerants throughout Canada, to fulfill provincial and federal regulations.
