The catch phrase “strength in numbers” has been used here at MCAS for years. A key to success is to leverage the relationships with others that have been fostered over time. Working with our colleagues at Merit Contractors we plan on doing just that. We are aligned on several key issues, and it just makes sense to work together towards some common goals.
Take for example, our first event listed in the upcoming events section of the newsletter. Merit is hosting an event that addresses the mental health pandemic that we are seeing in this province and across the country. It’s well past the time to remove the stigma around mental health. Merit has graciously opened these sessions to MCAS members and other industry partners. Why? Because chances you know someone who is struggling or that person might be you. If just one person who hears Corey Hirsch speak can then reach out for help, then that is a win.
As you will read in the Education News section of the newsletter, we are going to be offering our MCAS training to Merit Members at our MCAS rates and vice versa. This provides an exceptional opportunity for members of both associations to sharpen their technical skills with MCAS courses and round out their ‘soft skill set” with Merit classes. Merit has access to a wide selection of courses with offerings ranging from Time Management to CCA Contracts 101 and everything in between.
As the partnership evolves, we will be announcing new initiatives that will be designed to benefit members of both organizations. Stay tuned!
