As the Advisor for the MCAS benefits program, our number one priority has always been to ensure that the program offers the best coverage at the best price for members. The program has been with Saskatchewan Blue Cross since 2014. I am happy to report that members have given me great feedback about their experiences with Blue Cross.
That being said, earlier this year we went to the market to see if the association would benefit from switching providers. After completing our analysis, we presented our findings to the board. We found that remaining with Saskatchewan Blue Cross is the best option. It was the best solution to ensure the long-term stability and sustainability of the MCAS program.
One major change is that now MCAS members have total plan flexibility. Previously we had Bronze, Silver and Gold options. Now members have the total freedom to customize their program as they see fit. This is a fantastic change and I am happy to say Blue Cross was great to accommodate it.
