A proprietary dust cap covers the seams, adding an extra layer of protection above the heat-sensitive seam of the stitched panels to prevent contamination and fine dust particles from passing through. No other company offers this additional protection.

Certain types of dust—like paint particles, iron, and epoxy—are considered combustible dust. Traditional temporary ceilings are a continuous sheet of plastic. SmartSeam complies with the International Building Code (IBC) and FM Approvals, allowing installation for up to six months. It maintains a continuous installation of film that captures debris while allowing the panels to open during a fire. It can be placed beneath sprinklers, lights, and other elements located beneath the roof deck.

A solution was needed to keep one of the top mattress pad and pillow manufacturing facilities operational throughout their reroofing project.
