We are delighted to announce that the newest edition of the “Principles of Effective Public Procurement” textbook will be available within the next 2-3 weeks. This update, the first since 2014, contains the most current information and aligns with the Principles Certificate curriculum. The 2024 edition is consistent with the previous edition by providing the best comprehensive overview of public purchasing currently available in a Canadian context that is non-academic and free from complicated legal language.
The publication of the 2024 edition of the PPP textbook is a cooperative effort by many dedicated OPBA members, volunteers, and staff. This significant achievement took over a year of dedicated effort and wouldn’t have been possible without their invaluable contributions of time and expertise. Additionally, the OPBA commissioned a reputable Canadian law firm, with a successful history of handling public procurement issues and cases, to review and update Chapter 2 – Procurement and the Law, ensuring its accuracy and incorporation of recent and relevant case law examples.
